You may be visible,
but are you memorable?
Be unforgettable. Be chosen.
Time to think
inside the box
Right now
You're a founder-led SME, working hard to win clients. You find yourself competing more on price, less on value. Messaging isn't landing, with little to distinguish you from competitors.
This feeling
The business feels stuck and you're out of ideas. But you know how great your business is, and feel passionate about what you do and why you do it.
Look closer
The answer is inside your business. It comes from you and your team, your experience, your know-how, your values. It also comes from a better understanding of how your clients actually see your business, rather than how you think they see it.
Finding your story
Those answers are your business intelligence. That's the cornerstone of everything your business says and does. That's your Business Story, one that people remember, trust, and engage with, and ultimately, one they choose.
The case for
storytelling
Growth is everything
As a founder-led SME, just like the global brands you see here, growth is your priority. But you just don't have their marketing department or budgets to help you get there.
Your competitive advantage
Virgin and BA will fly you around, but it's their story that sets them apart, not the flight. Their story is their competitive advantage because each is unique and can't be replicated. Your business has one too, and that needs to be told.
Here's the truth
People remember stories more than facts. Evidence confirms just 5% of people remember statistics, while 63% remember stories.* That's what makes storytelling such a powerful business tool for SMEs, not just global brands.
Put your story to work
With so much noise today, the opportunities for clients to remember much about you are few. A CompellingStory Playbook changes that.

The
compellingstory
playbook
A CompellingStory Playbook is how your story comes to life.
It's the strategy for how your business communicates: the problem you solve, what sets you apart, the value you provide. And it's what your clients remember and how they see and connect with you.
Shaped by you, your team, and clients rather than standardised templates or artificial intelligence, the reason so many businesses sound the same today.
Use it everywhere your business speaks, in sales conversations, proposals, pitches, your website, your marketing. Say it once, and it's consistent, wherever it's said.
Integrate your Playbook into your AI tools, and it will be your business intelligence doing the talking, with AI providing the answers.
The compelling story
transformation
-
A clear story means AI finally works for you. It's your business intelligence doing the talking, AI just providing the answers, so every conversation your business has sounds like you, no one else.
-
Telling it clearly means instant recognition with the people who already know you, and strong brand awareness with the people who don't, both create real commercial opportunity.
-
With a clear story, you stop sounding like every other business in your sector. Your story becomes unmistakable and unforgettable.
-
A clear story makes people want to talk to you, not just read about you, turning interest into opportunities, and opportunities into sales.
-
A clear story stays with people. So when it's time to choose, you're the one they remember.
-
A clear story shows other businesses exactly who you are, making the right partners want to work with you, not just the ones who'll take anyone.
-
A clear story attracts the best talent, bringing greater skills and experience into your business, and makes every hire count.
-
Word of mouth only works if your story's easy to repeat. Get that right, and a recommendation lands with the same impact as if you'd said it yourself, turning clients into genuine advocates for your business.
-
Every pitch, every sales conversation, comes down to one thing: connection. People don't buy from companies, they buy from people, and a clear story is what makes that connection happen, every single time.
-
A clear story shapes your culture, not just what you sell, but how everyone talks about it. When your team believes the same story, that comes through in every outbound conversation, and every stakeholder can tell the difference.
-
A true story shows people who you really are, so the trust it creates forms in minutes, not months, and that's what turns a conversation into a relationship.
-
A clear story shifts the conversation away from price, so clients choose you for the value you provide, and you stop competing with businesses who'll always be cheaper than you.

Hi, I am Simon
the founder
Why CompellingStory?
Well, sales has been central to my career and while you may be surprised to hear I don't love selling, the key to sales is being curious, and that I love.
Being curious to understand what makes a business work and how it can stand out in such a noisy and complex world is something I have grown increasingly passionate about.
Ask me how many businesses I've spoken to during my career, and I've no idea, but they've ranged from SME start-ups and professional service firms to global brands like Highland Spring, Monzo, Rolls-Royce and Braun.
And in amongst all those conversations is that same Why behind CompellingStory, because I noticed an increasing amount of founder-led SMEs sounded unremarkable, and often like their competitors, including one I worked for.
I could see this was stalling growth. The ones who got it right? They wore the bigger smiles.
If that sounds familiar, take a look at the Playbooks.
